Dan Whalley is a recent retiree who has finally traded the daily grind for the quiet joys of writing and pottering, toying with sparks of creativity. He recently completed his first novel, “The Child of the Cloth” and is navigating the labyrinth of editing, a process he discovered takes roughly three times longer than the writing itself.
Dan recently made his fiction debut when his very first submitted story, ‘Roadkill,’ was picked up by The Horror Tree. He was thrilled to be selected as their Featured Author for March 2026.
Dan also helps to facilitate the ‘Creative Writing Workshop’. We are a community of writers who enjoy virtual reality and explore long creative writing. We meet every Tuesday in ENGAGE XR (and sometimes VRChat) to discuss writing tips, techniques, and how to improve our writing. We are a family here who loves expressing ourselves through story.
